New Mercedes Benz Coupes Cut Their Weight

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com

New Mercedes Benz Coupes Cut Their Weight

In January, an auto show will be held in Detroit, where the new Mercedes Benz SL coupes will be shown.
The shell of the new Benz will be made of mostly aluminum and will also be made of steel and magnesium. This means that the weight of the car will drop. The car will also have more power.
Despite the fact that the new vehicle will weigh less and have more power, the safety of it is not diminished. Mercedes Benz claims that its building techniques such as welding, bonding, hemming, riveting, and bolting allow for low vibration and safety.
The new vehicle will also have a better sound system and new windshield wipers that spray water directly in front of the blades. This means that drivers will not see the splash of liquid when they spray the fluid to clean the windshield.  Mercedes Bens names these new additions the FrontBass system and the Magic Vision Control, respectively. scrap vehicle.

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com
Jeep Coming Out with New Additions

Jeep is preparing for this winter by coming out with vehicles equipped for the cold weather. We know that the winter can bring Arctic weather, and so Jeep’s new additions are called just that: Arctic.

Jeep is adding two new models to car dealerships. The first is  called the Arctic Wrangler, and the second is called the Arctic Liberty.

The Wrangler comes in two or four-door models and has a 283-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine, whereas the Liberty comes in the SUV-type 4 door model and has a 3.7 liter V6, producing 210-hp.

Both vehicles are introduced in arctic-like colors such as light blue, white, and silver, and come with mopar slush mats and black and orange interior. They also have actic patches on the front seats, which are heated, and on the door handles.

The Wrangler is selling for $32,669, and the Liberty is selling for $27,465.

JunkyardDirect: Junk Car Ban

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com

Junk Car Ban

Burlington enforced a junk car ban (which was introduced in June) earlier this month. The ban allows the city to tow junked vehicles that are within the limits of the city itself. It has been reported by the Burlington police station, though, that the city has a low number of junk cars, which are barely ever even seen. Burlington council member Celo Faucette reported that the ban was introduced so as to improve the city aesthetically, an ironic report, since the city has few viewable junk cars to the public. Most junk cars are on private property and in backyards. This means that the ban would allow the city to curtail property rights and allow officials to go onto private property so as to remove the supposed “junk” vehicle.

But what is “junk”? Have you ever heard the saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”? So, then, who is to decide what “trash” really is? And so, this is a major problem that arises with this ban. What is trash? What is junk? What qualifies a vehicle to be junk? No one person may be able to say. Some vehicles have sentimental value despite the fact that they are aesthetically displeasing.

It is understandable that junk cars may have a negative impact on a neighborhood by impacting property value and by being hazardous to the environment because of leaking fluids; however, the ban on junk cars is not the best answer. If the focus is on danger and on the value of property, these aspects should be addressed rather than enforcing a ban on junk cars altogether. The ban went into affect on Saturday October 8th.

JunkyardDirect: Reasons to Junk Your Car

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com

Reasons to Junk Your Car

Junking your car qualifies as a recycling process. Junk cars are often left to sit years upon years, simply collecting dust and attracting rodents and pests. Furthermore, such cars leak chemicals and harmful fluids that can be harmful to not only people but to the environment as well. Why let the car sit there when you can get quick cash for it? Not only do you benefit from the money given to you when you recycle the vehicle, but the world benefits as well because your sale contributes to the recycling of metal and car parts.

Another reason to junk your car is because junk cars often cannot be sold for wholesale value. That is, the vehicle is only valuable for the parts it has. It is often too expensive to fix a junk car; it is much easier to just junk it and get the quick cash. Junking your car, therefore, lifts a burden off your shoulders! You eliminate the hassle of fixing the car, and you eliminate the hassle of trying to sell it to people who are not willing to pay a reasonable price for it.

Most of the time, all junk car removal services accept all junk cars, that is, they all accept all years, makes, and models, and they often will pick up and tow the car away free of charge! Consider junking your car today.

Junk Cars: Earn Quick Cash by Recycling Your Junk Cars

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com

Earn Quick Cash by Recycling Your Junk Cars

We all know that vehicles depreciate quickly. New vehicles are constantly being made, and old ones go out of style quickly, so to speak. Not only do they go out of style, but they also become run-down. We wind up paying to fix one problem, such as the starter, just to find out that yet another thing is wrong with the vehicle. It seems as though once you fix one problem, another one arises almost instantaneously.

If you are sick of putting money into your vehicle, or if you feel as though your vehicle is just not fixable (that is, if it was in an accident), you can choose to junk it for quick cash.

To junk a car, all you need is the title, and we give you cash on the spot. If you do not have the title, that’s not a problem. We can pick up the junk car with the registration and a copy of the registered owner’s drivers license!

To determine a price quote, you need to evaluate the vehicle. How many miles is on it? How is the body condition? Was it in any accidents? Is there any rust? Flat tires? What are the mechanical problems? Etc.

Sometimes junking your vehicle is not the most beneficial decision, however. If you decide to, you can fix the car and sell it rather than junking it. Sometimes selling it can get you more money than junking it. At other times however, depending on the vehicle’s condition, you can earn more money by junking it. To learn which way can get you more money, simply try selling it. Put up “for sale” signs and see how much people are willing to pay for it. Also, call junk car removal services and see how much they are willing to pay. In this way, you can evaluate which way offers you more cash. It’s that simple !

Scrap Metal Scam in Duluth

Scrap Metal Scam in Duluth

Due to raised prices in scrap metal, criminals are stealing cars and selling them as junk to earn a quick dollar in Duluth.

Tow trunk companies are at fault for cooperating with the criminals by buying their vehicles without ownership documentation for the supposed “junk” vehicles.

There are a few investigations going on to help close this scrap metal scam case, and officials are calling for more restrictive laws when it comes to buying and selling junk vehicles.

Currently, the only documentation that is needed to sell a junk car in Duluth is a license, but investigators are wondering if the licenses that were given are even legal.

Whereas only the license is needed in Duluth, in New York it is required that the car seller provide the title for the vehicle. If the title is not in possession, the registration and the copy of the registered driver’s drivers license is required. If this sort of paper work is not provided, the vehicle is not picked up.

Salvage Car: Are You Looking to Sell Your Vehicle that Was Damaged During Hurricane Irene?

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com

Are You Looking to Sell Your Vehicle that Was Damaged During Hurricane Irene?

Hurricane Irene hit the east coast hard, and flooding caused much damage to many cars. Whereas some vehicles can be repaired, yet other vehicles have damage that exceeds the worth of the vehicle itself. Many insurance companies do not pay to repair damage when it exceeds the worth of the car, and the car is marked as salvaged. If your vehicle has been marked as salvaged, there is basically nothing you can do with it. A salvage car cannot be sold, and to fix the car on your own would be worthless and pointless. The cost to fix it would be more than that of the worth of the car itself. The best thing to do with the vehicle is to junk it. You can earn some money for junking the car and can put that money toward buying a new vehicle. Consider junking your salvaged car today!

Be Careful with National Junk Car Buyers

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com

Be Careful with National Junk Car Buyers

Choosing a national junk car removal company over a local one is generally the wiser move if you want to make more money off the scrap car in your backyard because large companies generally have more money to offer than small ones. This does not mean that you should consider the first national junkyard company that you see on the Internet. The key point to remember is always be careful when selling your scrap cars.

So what’s the danger with some national junk car companies? National companies are usually located in another state other than the one that the seller of the car lives in, and the company usually opts to just sell the vehicle (as a lead) to a local company, saving that company the trouble of going to your site. Such leads could be sold anywhere from $25 to $250.

What’s the problem with this arrangement? Well, the truth is that some national companies aren’t very particular about what companies they sell their leads to. In fact, some of them can’t even be bothered to check the licenses of companies that buy their leads. This means that virtually anyone can buy these leads–even criminals. There are buyers out there that do not properly transfer ownership when they take junk cars. If you sell them a salvage car, they’ll probably fix it up and sell it right away without processing the necessary documents.

Ultimately, you may have to pay for this unscrupulous arrangement by the wrong sort of national junk car removal company. If your car’s ownership isn’t properly transferred, you may get contacted by authorities if the car you sold runs a red light, gets involved in a road accident, or even gets used by crooks. For this reason, you must always be careful even when choosing among national junk car buyers. Read as many reviews as possible to be sure that you’re selling your junk car to a reputable company.

Junk Cars: From eyesore to profit

Amplify’d from junkyarddirect.com

From eyesore to profit

If you have an eyesore of a car in your garage, why not look for channels to turn it into profit? Here are a few ways to turn that so-called trash into gold:

Consult an expert

If possible, look for more than just one specialist to help you out in this endeavor. First, get your trusted mechanic so that he can inspect your junk car first. By inspecting the car and getting key advice, you may seek out the best price available. Talk to your friends who may be involved in this trade. Seek the advice of recyclers or owners of salvage cars as well.

Assess the car

If a mechanic is not available, you may have to inspect the car yourself. Observe the parts of your junk car, noting any damages. Check out the engine, tires, and paint since these all have bearings on how much you can actually sell your car for.

Make that decision

“That decision” is the choice to either repair any damages that you may have noticed or to sell the junk car as it is. You may be spending more money initially if you decide to repair the car. If you think about it, though, you can sell it at a much higher price. All of this is up to you and your potential buyer.

Find a buyer

This is often the most difficult part as most clients or customers are meticulous in checking possible purchases. Always be open for questions and offer help when needed. There may be buyers who would want only your precious spare parts, so it’s up to you to gauge on whether you will have more profit in selling the junk car as a whole or by selling its parts. As mentioned, always ask around so that you will be able to compare prices as well and not miss out on the many possibilities out there.

Amplify’d from knol.google.com

Do your research

There are many ways to dispose your car while scoring extra cash on the side. Go to the Internet and there you’ll see many junk car removal companies willing to hand out money for your used car. Some may even offer free pick-up so take advantage of that opportunity.

The parts of your junk car can also be profitable so do your research so that you will know the many options that you have if and when you want to scrap your car into pieces.

Keep asking

Scan the net and get as many quotations as you can. You can also go around your neighborhood and shop around your car or even its parts since you will usually get paid by the pound. Get the best deal possible. You can only achieve this by comparing quotations and looking for the most number of buyers out there.

Create your own site

If you have time and you want to be in the business of buy-and-sell, then why not create your own site? There you can buy parts from other sellers and sell them for a higher amount. If you have multiple junk cars at your disposal, then you can do the scrapping yourself and sell those valuable parts to potential buyers.

Junk Cars: Buying junk cars the right way

Amplify’d from junkcars.posterous.com

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and you’d want to earn loads of money with old cars, then why not start investing in junk cars? With a dose of creativity and patience, you can turn junk cars into profit. If you are planning to buy and junk car and restore it to its old glory to score some profit, then here are some things you may want to try out.

Check for mechanical problems

Mechanical_problem

Problems with the engine can mean hundreds or even thousands on your end so check the motor or engine of the junk car5 first. If you will be spending loads of cash just repairing this aspect of the car, then it may eat up the majority of your potential profit. Try looking for junk cars that still have excellent engines and those that still run smoothly.

Check the oil as well. If you notice that the engine doesn’t have oil then this may only mean that it has a serious problem. Also, inspect for cracks on the engine as this may also cost you money down the road.

Inspect the tires
Inspect_tires

You will discover problems with steering misalignment when you check the tires for uneven wear. Make sure the tire pressure is even. Look at the treads of the tries as well since you may need to replce them and of course, this will mean more expenses from your end.

Check for rust
Check_for_rust

Rust only means more headaches along the way. If and when you find rust, it may only indicate that the vehicle has been damaged by water either by a flood or any other accident. Look at all possible areas of rust such as under the seats, at the dashboard and even at the compartment.

Profits will surely come your way as long as you buy the right junk cars. As long as you explore all possibilities and exhibit rigor in inspecting your new purchase, then you may be on your way to sure-fire profits.

Junk Cars: How to inspect a used car in the market

Amplify’d from junk-cars.hubpages.com

How to inspect a used car in the market

Buying a used car or junk cars can be a leap of faith. Of course, you would want to get value for your purchase but at the end of the day, it all boils down to your persistence in inspecting and doing a careful research of the car you are buying. How do you know if you’ve hit the jackpot? Here are some steps to take to be able to score your dream used car.

Always ask questions.

Asking questions to the seller will always go a long way. Whether you are buying from a car dealer or a private, owner it’s always good to ask questions about the performance of the car, his or her reasons for selling and other concerns that you may have. Some unscrupulous sellers may evade some of your questions, especially if it’s about mechanical issues and past history of accidents so always be on the lookout. If the seller seems hesitant or tries to evade your line of questioning, then try to look for other used car on the market.

Test drive

Take the car around the neighborhood or a nearby highway for a test drive. Test the acceleration as it should be going smoothly during the duration of your test run. Try to look for signs of wear and tear and possible mechanical problems by observing the sound of the engine and if the gear is working efficiently. Look for these red flags and you’ll discover a load of things about the car that you are planning to buy.

Hire a reliable mechanic

If possible, when buying a used car, always have it checked first by a qualified mechanic. An expert on automobiles is your best bet in making sure that the used car that you are targeting is worth all your money. By getting the advice of an expert, you will be alerted of possible issues down the road and may even give you leverage in terms of negotiating for a much lower price.

Junk Car on Your Property? Get a COA

Amplify’d from junkcars.posterous.com

You move in to your new home and there it is at the backyard or garage: a rusty heap of metal on wheels that seems to have sat there for years.  Aside from the fact that it’s extremely ugly and a waste of space, it’s also dangerous to keep around since it could be leaking toxic fluids into the ground or hosting various pests.

If the junk car was abandoned by the previous tenants and you don’t have its title, you can get rid of the vehicle by processing a document called a Certificate of Authority (COA). Don’t worry ‘cause the whole process isn’t troublesome at all and it would allow you to legally dispose of the vehicle. Once your COA is processed, the vehicle may be marked as “salvage” and it can never be put back on the road. You may then contact a local or national junk car removal company to get rid of the vehicle for you even if you don’t have the title.

Some people go through the trouble of placing small claim civil suits on former tenants who abandon vehicles on their former properties. The civil judge may then rule that the new owner of a property has the right to the abandoned vehicle. You can, of course, go through all this trouble or just get a COA, so you can have the vehicle removed immediately. In many ways, a COA is just as good as a title and it’ll do if your main concern is just getting rid of the rusty ride as quickly as possible.

However, doing it this way may not earn you money even if you try to deal with a company that gives cash for junk cars. The reason for this is that the company may have to place the scrap car in a state-approved storage lot. They may not give you any cash ‘cause the storage lot would just pay the junk car removal company for towing your vehicle. The company is then prevented from retaining the junk car once it’s placed in the storage lot since it must be auctioned off according to law.

While this is certainly one option in getting rid of your junk car, it’s not the only way. Remember that this is also not legal advice, so always consult your lawyer for more instructions. Ask him about COA and how you can best get rid of that old clunker and perhaps even earn money in the process.

Proper Documentation: A Mark of a Good Junk Car Removal Company

Amplify’d from trent38.hubpages.com

Proper Documentation: A Mark of a Good Junk Car Removal Company

Google “sell my junk car” or “junk my car” and you’ll end up with endless options for removing that old, rusty heap of metal in your backyard. There are just so many junk car removal companies these days that it’s hard to make up your mind on which company provides the best services. But here’s one thing you should seriously consider: whether the scrap car company does proper documentation or not.

A good junk car removal company follows all applicable state and federal laws to protect both of you and assure the legality of the transaction. They do all the necessary paperwork and make sure that everything is properly documented as required by law. Documentation takes place from the exact date and time the company receives your call to the time their representatives arrive to inspect and tow the junk car away.

The junk car removal company will set a visit to the scrap car’s site that fits your schedule. Don’t worry if you lost the car’s title because a good company will have plenty of experience legally obtaining cars for junk. They will know how to properly acquire your vehicle even if you don’t have a title.

How is documentation done? Through many things, one of which is through taking photographs of your scrap car. The junk car removal company’s representatives will take pictures of your vehicle from different angles, as well as its vehicle identification numbers. They may also take pictures to document exactly when and where the purchase took place. Still following strict state guidelines, the company may ask you to provide them with your state-issued ID or driver’s license. They’ll take a picture of this, too, as required by law.

Proper documentation is extremely important, so you’ll know you’re actually dealing with a company that cares about the legality of the transaction. Read reviews of junk car removal companies before you commit to one. Only go for a company that does proper documentation ‘cause if the sale isn’t properly documented and the salvage car gets in trouble, you may end up the one paying the price.

Impoundment Dilemma: To Sell or Not to Sell Junk Cars

Amplify’d from junkcars.posterous.com
Do you live in an apartment complex? If so, you may have run into this problem that many people encounter when it comes to their clunkers parked around apartment complexes. The problem is, many of these apartment complexes tow vehicles for different reasons. Such reasons include, among others, flat tires, leaks, expired tags and abandonment of vehicles.

You’re not the only one who have unfortunately ended up shouldering the burden in such a situation. Many car owners actually call junk cars companies to buy their impounded cars. What’s the advantage here? Well, if your car is really old and is basically a scrap car or junk car, then it must already be of very little use to you. The apartment complex may even have a valid and serious reason why it had your vehicle towed. For instance, if toxic fluids are leaking from your vehicle, it may contaminate the surrounding area and affect people’s health—even your own health.

It may also be the case that your vehicle is a salvage car. That means it’s roadworthy but it has enough damage to make you consider twice and thrice about selling it to a junk car removal company. But ask yourself if the car is really worth keeping. If maintaining your frequently defective vehicle is costing you lots of money at the auto repair shop, it may be wise to let it go.
But the biggest reason why it’s a good idea to just sell your impounded vehicle is that impoundment fees can be very hefty. These may also add up fast and before you know it, paying up for your old clunker is utter foolishness. Plus, there’s the trouble of and charge for towing back your scrap car or salvage car to the same apartment complex that had it impounded.

So instead of losing a fortune over your vehicle that’s more trouble than useful equipment, why not just sell it to a company that buys cars for junk? Many of these companies can take care of everything in the transaction, even if you lost your title. Think very carefully. This may be your chance to get some big bucks and peace of mind.

Junk Cars: Be Careful with National Junk Car Buyers

Be Careful with National Junk Car Buyers

Choosing a national junk car removal company over a local one is generally the wiser move if you want to make more money off the scrap car in your backyard. That’s because these large companies generally have more money to offer than small ones. But that doesn’t mean you can go for the first national junkyard company you see on the Internet. The key point to remember is always be careful when selling your scrap cars.

So what’s the danger with some national junk car companies? If you choose a national company to remove the junk car in your backyard, the company could be located in another state. Because of this, they may opt to just sell the lead to a local company, saving them the trouble of going to your site themselves. Such leads could be sold anywhere from $25 to $250.

What’s the problem with this arrangement? Well, the truth is, some national companies aren’t very particular about what companies they sell their leads to. In fact, some of them can’t even be bothered to check the licenses of companies that buy their leads. That means virtually anyone can buy these leads, even criminals.

If your car’s ownership wasn’t properly transferred, you may get contacted by authorities if the car you sold runs a red light, gets involved in a road accident or even gets used by crooks. For this reason, you must always be careful even when choosing among national junk car buyers. Read as many reviews as possible to be sure that you’re selling your junk car to a reputable company.

Salvaged Titles

According to New York state motor vehicle regulations, when a vehicle is in an accident, has significant damage from water or vandalism, or is stolen, car insurers consider it salvaged when the price of repairs exceed seventy-five percent of that of the market value of that vehicle. For instance, if a person owns a 2002 Acura TL that is valued at $15,000 and the cost of repairs after an accident exceeds $11,250.00, insurers will deem the title of that vehicle to be salvaged. That is, the vehicle is not worth repairing and is not considered safe to drive.

When a vehicle has a salvaged title, it becomes almost worthless. It is very difficult to sell, and it becomes a burden for the owner. The vehicle, however, is not totally worthless. A vehicle with a salvaged title can be junked for its weight and parts, and the owner can earn some cash by selling it to junk car removal services. Often at times, the owner of a junk car can earn from $150-$500+ for the vehicle that he/she believed was worthless.

The amount of money an owner of a vehicle with a salvaged title can earn depends on multiple factors. Some factors that contribute to the worth of a junk vehicle are: the year, make, and model of the vehicle; the mileage; the degree of body damage; etc. Junk car removal services often offer free pick up and tow service for cars with salvaged titles in addition to paying for the vehicle. Salvage cars 101

There are many things to consider when purchasing a used car. In the United States of America for instance, there are many rules to follow when buying and selling cars. For one, you should acquaint yourself with what a “salvage title” is. It is a form of vehicle title branding which signifies the condition of the car and how it has been severely damaged or declared totaled by the insurance company that paid a claim on it. The criterion depends on different state laws.

Salvage car with salvage titles are alluring to investors, enthusiasts and hobbyists because of the low costs involved. While some may have easy repairable damages, some do not have evident damages at all. But looks can be deceiving. It is advised that you stay vigilant especially when buying a salvage car because in most cases, there may be damages that were hidden to gain profit, some of which may also be beyond repair.

Some states have banned cars that have salvage titles on their roads. Some dishonest sellers attempt to rebrand titles without permission and this may pose as a safety hazard for anyone on the road. Rebranding is prohibited without a legal inspection that ensures all safety standards are met.

On the other hand, title washing is the method of transferring a car's registration in order to remove a title brand. This is practiced by some insurance companies as well. Some attempt to register their cars in other states resulting in it having clean titles. Avoid imported cars from other countries also since most of them are issued with clean titles even if some of them have already been involved in accidents and natural calamities. Indeed, it is important to keep doing background checks as much as you can since some other states maintain lax inspections with regards to removing the salvage brand.
